This infographic comes courtesy of medicalbillingandcoding.org, and provides me with no small amount of amusement since it actually cited this blog and the Paleo Community Surveys which I’ve conducted. (Click to view full size.)

Surely it should be the development of agriculture not architecture? (in the AVOID section)

  2. Michele says:

That is great! and good catch, Bill, I did not even notice that! And it is a more or less fair presentation!

Interesting…although there are a few questions hhmmm.

If in the paleo days, paleo people around the world would have not eaten the same diet. Warmer climates people in the paleo days might of eaten most of their food from plants while paleo people up north, may have eaten more food from meat.

Plus there was no such thing as a genetically modified animal back in the paleo days. Back then animals were strong and healthy, now they are very sick. Most turkeys cannot live past the age of 2, same with chickens.

Lot’s of animals are stricken by contagious diseases that us people give them because we breed them with such HORRIBLY weak immune systems.

Paleos base their diets on these animals except for maybe cows. They like to call their cows “grass fed beef” but beef doesn’t eat grass, cows do, so it’s grass fed cows.

Also back in the paleo days, humans were cannibalistic, but human flesh isn’t on the menu?

Also back in the paleo days, hunters really worked hard to get their food. You have seen on the discovery channels, it can take days or even weeks before a “kill” is hunted and killed. Plus that is also a lot of activity as well. Here people can eat meat with every meal up to 3 times a day or more. Paleos had to actually track, hunt, kill, and prepare the animals they killed and not every hunt was successful as with all hunters, so I doubt the paleos had a diet CENTERED around meat at EVERY meal.

  4. David, You should be honored and applauded for your work. Paleo is becoming more mainstream and your work is influencing that. Keep up the great work.

Pretty good infographic, good thing they cited you as the source for the data (since you worked really hard to gather it!)
I find it fairly curious that a medical billing and coding company came up with this and put it on their blog…do you have any background on that?

      Ann,
That website comes up with a lot of different infographics (on various health-related topics), and sometimes I pick them and post them. I think it’s just a marketing tool they use, but some of their graphics are pretty good.
